Trip at The Rock — Big Ann Arbor Landmark

Trip

Owner · UMich Law Alum · Former BigLaw Partner · Lives Downstairs

Trip owns the building and lives alone in the first floor apartment. His adult children don’t visit as often as he wants. (They are immune to Trip’s guilt trips.)

He is a UMich Law alumnus (Michigan Law Review), a former partner at an international BigLaw firm in Chicago and New York, and the General Counsel of a technology company — working from home, right downstairs.

He understands demanding careers, professional privacy, and what it means to come home after a long shift and need the space to actually be restful. Maintenance requests get addressed promptly — the house is Trip’s home too (and he won’t tolerate water dripping on his bed either …)

He is available when you need him and invisible when you don’t.

He knows Ann Arbor inside and out (like you know Gross Anatomy) — the best restaurants, the quiet spots, where to park at DTW, how to get ice cream at 1:30 AM and where to find a decent slice of emergency pizza stat at 2:30 AM (not that those have ever been absolutely positively essential to avert a serious mental health crisis …)

🏳️ A Genuinely Welcoming Home

Trip maintains 1832 Vinewood as a warm inclusive home for tenants of all backgrounds, identities, and lifestyles. LGBTQ+ students and residents are especially welcome here — this is a safe, affirming space based on the values of the person who lives in it. All are warmly welcomed. Come as you are.
